John Robert Edler, 89, of Pearl City, IL, passed away on November 17, 2024 at home.  He was born on August 31, 1935 in Freeport, IL, to Robert L. Edler and Ruth (Bremer) Edler. He worked as a machinist. He married Vanessa Edler in Elizabeth, IL. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kent, IL.

Survivors include his wife Vanessa, children: Jo Jean Edler, Robert Edler, and Sarah Edler; stepchildren: Daniel Kuhse/Susan, Coral Lamm/Brian, Amy McPeek/Robert, and Angela Zuck/Josh; grandchildren: Jamie, Addrien, Dale, Austin, Winston, Morgan, Carson, Torren, Katherine, Ashley, Kirsten, Clara, Isabelle, Cowen, and Landon; and great-grandchildren: Anante, Violet, and Ellie.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert Edler, and his mother Ruth Edler.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 21, 2024 at 11 AM, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kent, IL. A luncheon will follow.
