John P.
Clark
Aug 11, 1946 — Feb 12, 2025
"John P. Clark, age 78, died peacefully at his home in Cedarville Illinois on Wednesday, February 12th, 2025. He was born on August 11th, 1946 in Monroe Wisconsin as the third son of Don and Lois ( Bolander) Clark. On May 10th, 1980 he married Linda (Hinkins) whom he considered to be his second best blessing, the first being his salvation.
He graduated from St. Lawrence Seminary (High School) in Mount Calvary, Wisconsin in 1964 and later from UW-Stevens Point. His working years were primarily spent in Photography and Sales, but included a short time as an orderly at St Mary's Burn Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, an experience that he talked about often.
John was well known for his sense of humor and great love for his wife and country, but more importantly for his love for the church and his Savior, Jesus Christ, as well as any opportunities he had to preach as a fill-in for his pastor.
He is survived by his wife Linda; brothers Tom (Marcia) Clark of Elburn IL, and Charlie (Joyce) Clark of Platteville WI; brothers-in-law Butch Hinkins of Richmond VA and Terry (Connie) Hinkins of Mechanicsville VA; and two generations of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Fr. Keith Clark.
He will be greatly missed. A memorial fund has been established in his name."
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 18th, 2025 at 11 AM, with a visitation at 10 AM, at the Winneshiek Evangelical Free Church, 3842 East Winneshiek Road, Freeport, IL, with Pastor Matt Mitchell officiating. A luncheon will follow the service in the fellowship hall.
