John Michael Brant, 67, of Freeport, IL, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday December 17, 2021. He was born July 17, 1954, in Great Lakes, IL Naval Base, the son of Fred Wayne Brant and Audrey (Peters) Brant. He attended Freeport High School (Class of 1973).

He is survived by his dad, Bernard Spradlin, Sr., brother Bernard, Jr "Sport" (Peggy Spradlin), sister-in-law Peggy Brant, son Michael Wayne Brant (Kristina Brant), 5 granddaughters: Nina, Sydney, Taylor, Allyssa, and Aleeah Brant; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Wayne Brant, mom, Audrey (Brant) Spradlin, brothers: Ron, Richard, James, and Mark Brant; grandparents, aunt and uncle, Bob and Ronita Peters, and his father-in-law, Lee Euler, Sr.

He married Joann Euler October 4, 1974, and worked 30 years at Honeywell, also known as Micro Switch, as a setup man in punch press, with his father-in-law, and plastic press operation. John loved camping, fishing, car shows, and working on cars. He was a die-hard Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Vikings fan. John loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren and loved his dogs. He was also a former member the Eagles Club Local 679.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday January 15, 2022 at 3 PM, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL. Rev. Ellis Boughton will officiate.
