Joan A. Ellis, 73, of Freeport, IL, passed away on January 20, 2021. She was born on October 8, 1947 in New Orleans, LA, to Nolan Jackson Sr. and Rosalie E. Landry. She was a graduate of Freeport Aquin High School. She married George Ellis on May 23, 1969 in Freeport. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Survivors include her daughters: Shanelle A. Jackson and Adrian M. Galle; brothers: Micheal H. Johnson and John L. Landry; grandchildren: Kelin C. Jackson, Taylee A. Spikes, and Ramon I. Fleming; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Rosalie E. Landry and Nolan Jackson Sr; and a brother, Eddie L. Mays.

A service will be held on Saturday January 30, 2021 at 12 noon, at the Schwarz Funeral Home, 816 S. Galena Ave, in Freeport, IL.
