JC Ray, 93, 1928-2021, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph Village, Freeport, IL, and went to be with Jesus his Savior on Saturday October 09, 2021. Many thanks to the St. Joseph staff and FHN Hospice for their love and care.

JC was born in Qulin, MO., served in the U.S. Army and retired from Barber-Colman Co. in Loves Park, IL.

He loved the Lord and supported the ministries such as the Rockford Rescue Mission and North Towne Baptist Church in his early years. Later he expressed his love for the Jewish people through donations and prayer.

He is survived by his loving wife Betty of 73 years, two daughters: Kathleen Ray and Barbara Johnson; two granddaughters: Lori Dennis and Elizabeth O'Hea; 9 great-grandchildren, and family friend Sue Altensey.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Cap and Dora Ray of Pocahontas, ARK., and granddaughter Cristine Carlson-Ellsworth of Rockford, IL.
