James (Jim) Robert Battisti, 78, of Freeport, IL, passed away on February 13, 2023 at Swedish American Hospital following a long illness. Jim was born on December 3, 1944 in Pennsylvania, to parents Joseph and Annabelle (Wilson) Battisti. Jim served in the US Army as a Food Inspector in Panama. He worked as a meat cutter for 39 years for the UFCW. Jim enjoyed playing golf and reading.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Dunbar Battisti, daughter Susan (Greg) Borgmann, grandchildren: Emily Borgmann and Dylan Hensley; step-grandchildren: Sarah Hensley and Michael Hensley; 8 step-great-grandchildren, brother Richard Battisti of Wichita, KS, and 6 nieces.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joan Lynn Battisti Hensley, his parents, and sisters: Loretta Battisti Schick and Joann Battisti of Dixon, IL.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 25, 2023 at 1 PM, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 421 Peoria Ave in Dixon, IL.
