James V. McGinnis, 76, of Freeport, IL, passed away on May 18, 2026, at Mercyhealth FHN. He was born on May 8, 1950, at St. Francis Hospital in Freeport, to Vincent Charles McGinnis and Gladys Irene Denton. He was a 1968 graduate of Orangeville High School and later worked 36 years at Kelly Springfield.

Survivors include his brother Joseph McGinnis (Lynette) of Green Bay, WI, and niece Melissa McGinnis.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
