James Allen Ditsworth, 80, of Freeport, IL, passed away on January 24, 2021 at home. He was born on December 7, 1940 in Savanna, IL to Kenneth William and Anna J. (Hook) Ditsworth. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Teaching from Shimer College in Mt. Carroll, IL. On June 3, 1961, he married Dixie Doreen Nelson at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rockford, IL. James was a teacher and a member of Crossroads Community Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dixie Ditsworth; Julie (Larry) Dietz, James and Tracy Ditsworth, Patricia and James Deshazo, Kathleen and Michael Smith, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Steven Ditsworth.
