Gloria Jean Randecker, 72, of Mt. Carroll, IL, passed away on April 10, 2024. She was born on June 26, 1951, in Savanna, IL, to Harlen and Virginia (Eacker) Merkel. She was a 1969 graduate of Mt. Carroll High School. She married Gary Randecker in Wacker, IL on September 7, 1969. She was a loving housewife. She enjoyed all her family and was always up for a game of euchre. Her and Gary put several miles on their vehicles over the years searching out lighthouses and sunsets. Family gatherings will never be the same without her famous mac salad or zucchini bread. Organizations included Jehovah's Witness.

Survivors include 2 sons: Tim and Terry Randecker, both of Mt. Carroll, IL; 5 grandchildren: Anna, Keegan, Josie, Gage, and Emma; 1 great-grandchild David, stepmother Norma Merkel, 5 half-brothers: Steven Laux, Curtis (Mary) Merkel, David Merkel, Steven (Ida) Merkel, and Matthew Merkel; and 1 stepsister Selene Seiler.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gary, parents Harlen and Virginia, sister Helen, brother Brad, and sister Sharon Kay.

A private burial in Mt. Carroll will be at a later date.
