Gerd Schneider, 85, of Freeport, IL, passed away in her home on December 25, 2022 . She was born on March 13, 1937 in Oslo, Norway, to Sverre and Gunvor Johansen. She moved to the U.S. in the 1960s. She married Gary Schneider in 1963 in Oslo, Norway. She worked in Administration for the Stephenson County Nursing Center and Stephenson County Courthouse. Her hobbies included skiing, gardening, art, and raising Arabian Horses.

Survivors include her daughters: Amy (Phil) DiPentino  and Gretchen Potter; grandchildren: Kristen Potter, Bradley Potter (Briana Burns), Nicholas (Marisa) DiPentino, and Taylor (Drew) Franz; and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her companion Greg O'Haver, and her grandson Steven Crowe.
