Frederick E. Scheider, 81, of Freeport Illinois, passed away on October 29th 2026 at Amberwood Care Center in Rockford Illinois, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 2nd 1944 in Lena Illinois to Robert and Dorothy (Wilke) Scheider. He graduated from Lena high School in 1964. He attended Highland Community College, where he got a degree as an electrician, while working at Micro Switch. On June 5th 1971 at St John's Lutheran Church in Lena Illinois, he married Faye K. Bronkema. He worked as an electrician at Micro Switch for 35 years. He was a member of Saint John's Lutheran Church in Lena Illinois. He enrolled in the army in 1965 and was discharged in 1971. He and Faye began farming together in 1972, beginning a journey that would become an important part of his life. He enjoyed dirt car racing, tractor pulls, and just about any kind of motorsports. He was also a Chicago Bear fan and enjoyed cheering them on. He also enjoyed the company of his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years Faye Scheider, one son Scott (Staci) Scheider, two grandchildren: Veyah and Finn Scheider. He is further survived by one brother Maurice Scheider, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Bobby Scheider, and two beloved dogs Callie and Coco.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation rights have been accorded. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Unity Hospice and palliative care team for their compassionate care and support.
