Franklin R. Fryer, 82, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2023 at home. He was born July 17, 1940, to Marvin and Esther (Kortman) Fryer. He married Sandra L. Kintzel on May 21, 1966. She preceded him in death on February 18, 2011.

Frank and Sandy were proud members of the Joe Shear Racing Crew for many years. He was a proud member of Operating Engineers Local 150 and worked for Civil Construction for 42 years. Frank enjoyed attending Highland Cougar basketball games. He loved playing Euchre at the Eagles Club and going to McDonald's with his friends in the morning. Frank enjoyed NASCAR, watching the Golden State Warriors, and shopping with his family. He was always dressed to perfection, and he especially loved going out to eat with his family. He always took pride in having a nice car. Him and his wife loved going to Florida every year and attending NASCAR races, his all time favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Sr.

Survivors include his daughters: Shelly (Kurt) Zuck and Stacy (Kyle) Warner; grandchildren: Aaron Zuck, Austin Zuck, Samantha Warner (Aaron Davis); brothers: Gale (Mary) Fryer and Steve (Teresa) Fryer; sisters-in-law: Karen Capone and Maridy (Rex) Brinkmeier; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sandy, brothers: Ralph Fryer and Don Fryer; sister Doris Fisher, sisters-in-law: Harriet Fryer, Gayle Fryer, and Elizabeth Maurer.

A visitation will be held on Thursday June 1, 2023, from 4PM - 7PM, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport. A Private Graveside service will be held at Grandview Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in his memory for Highland Community College Athletics.
