Eugene L. Keister, 93, of Freeport, IL, passed away on January 9, 2023 at home. He was born in Dakota, IL, on November 13, 1929, to Levi N. and Mildred Keister. He served in the Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He married Karen J. Gahm on November 2, 1965. He was an iron worker, and organizations included Germania Club, VFW and Eagles.

Survivors include his wife Karen, sons: Mark, Scot, Steve, and Jeff Keister; grandchildren: Benjamin and Abby, Kaylie (Cory Polsean), Ashlyn (Jeremy Lehmann), great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Kenna, Hunter and Levi; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Bill, Robert, Mary Jane, Cynthia, Phylis and Marge.

Funeral Service will be held on Sunday January 15, 2023 at 2 PM, with visitation from 12 noon until time of service, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL. Rev. Ellis Boughton will officiate. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.
