Dorothy Jean Schramm, 77, of Forreston, IL, passed away on June 11, 2022, at FHN in Freeport. She was born on September 3, 1944, in Freeport, to Jacob and Alice (Ackerman) Harrenstein. She graduated from Freeport Aquin High School in 1962. She married Roy Lee Schramm on January 12, 1974. She worked at Burgess Battery until marriage, then worked side by side with her husband on the farm until his death. She would then work at Snak King (Vitner's) from 1993 to 2021. Mom loved her vegetable garden and was known for sharing her gardens bounty with others. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Shannon, IL.
Survivors include her daughter Annette (Robin) Williams of Leaf River and their children Ashley, Alex, and Lacie; Sons: Steven Schramm of Forreston, and Robert (Loreatha) Schramm of Forreston and their children Alissa, Austin, Ashton, and Alexis; Sisters: Margaret (Dean) Kempel of Lena and Mary (LeRoy) Rauch of Pearl City; and Sister-In-Law Alta Schramm of Freeport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy Lee in 1992, sister Joan, and brothers George and John.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday June 18, 2022, at 10 AM, at St. Wendelin Church in Shannon, IL, with Father Michael Bolger officiating. Friends may call at the church at 9 AM until time of service. Visitation will be held on Friday June 17, 2022, from 4-7 PM, with Rosary service at 3:30 PM, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.
Mom will always be remembered for her love of God and family. She never criticized, instead always supported us, loving unconditionally. Mom, we love you and will always miss you. Until we meet again, rest in peace in heaven.
