Donna Jean Miner (Christensen) was born in Chicago, IL July 17, 1938 to Ole Chris Christensen and Laverne Bernice Melanie Wertke. She was the oldest child and had a brother (Richard, from Arizona) and two sisters (Janet Christensen and Carol Kalecki from St. Anne). Donna lived near St. Anne when she met Roger Earl Miner from rural Kankakee. They were married on April 23, 1960. She went to Sterling College in Sterling, KS and Olivet University in Bourbonnais, IL. She used her master's degree to teach high school math, physics, and chemistry classes for several years. She loved sewing, crocheting, knitting, photography, and decorating cakes, and taught all but photography in adult education classes. She had a strong faith in the Bible and attended numerous churches during her life — as long as they were true to the Bible. She instilled that faith in her sons and shared it with anyone who was interested. She was an avid reader who read in excess of 100 books per year for many years and was still reading until a few weeks before her passing. She was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer just 3 months before she left this life to begin her new one on September 18, 2023. She went peacefully in her sleep.

Donna outlived both of her parents, her husband, and her brother, and is survived by her sisters and her two sons Arthur from rural Mount Carroll, and David (Judy) from rural Pearl City. Memorial service will be held on Saturday November 4, 2023 at 2 PM, with Fellowship at 1:30 PM, at the Berreman Church of God, 10350 S. Skunk Hollow Rd, in Mt. Carroll, IL. Pastor Robert Phelps will officiate.
