Donald Wayne Reed, 69, of Freeport, IL, passed away on December 8, 2024 at FHN Hospital. He was born on September 30, 1955 in Moline, IL, to Donald Reed and Darlene (Curry) Reed. He attended Ball State University and worked in sales / management in carpet & flooring. He was a member of Crosspoint Church in Rockford. Don was a gifted loving man who had a heart to help homeless men and special needs adults. He enjoyed riding the joy bus to pick folks up for church. He was a gifted athlete and great golfer. Don loved his parents, grandparents, siblings, and his 2 kids. He had a kind and generous spirit and shared his love for Jesus with anyone he could.

Survivors include his daughter Ashley Reed, son Taylor Reed, both of Florida, sisters: Debra Curboy of Freeport, Dawn Peura of Minnesota, and Darci Hasselen of Minnesota; brothers: David Reed of Minnesota, Daniel Reed of Minnesota, and Dustin Reed of St. Charles, IL. Other survivors include many nieces and nephews, 1 Aunt Diane Carnithan of Rock Island, IL, and special friends: Jennifer & Danielle Castle, Steve Kish, Steve & Denee Martindale, and Pastor Dave Spooner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, infant daughter, nephew, sister, and cousin.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
