Dianne Kay Sandell, 82, of Freeport, IL, passed away on May 21, 2023 at Walnut Acres Nursing Home. She was born on February 23, 1941 in Freeport, to William Anderson and Helen Margaret (Blehinger). She graduated from Pearl City High School and on August 8, 1959, married Theo Kruse Sandell. She was a CNA at Lena and Stephenson Nursing Center, and a receptionist at FMH, General Casualty, and Lena Sales, just to name a few. She was a member at St. John's Lutheran Church. Volunteer work included Voices, Freeport Memorial Hospital, and Highland Community College.

Survivors include her sons: Dale (Pam) Sandell and Dennis (Monica) Sandell; daughter Darla Brinkmeier, grandchildren: Carrie (Aaron) Hass, Chad Sandell, Cale (Heather) Sandell, Codi (William) Kempel, Hannah Sandell, and Josephine (Andrew) Pickard; 12 great-grandchildren, and brother Richard Brinkmeier.

She was preceded in death by her husband Theo Sandell, mother Helen Brinkmeier, stepfather Lloyd Brinkmeier, and father William Anderson.

Funeral service will be held on Friday May 26, 2023 at 10:30 AM, with visitation at 9:45 AM, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 229 S. 1st St. in Pearl City, IL. Pastor Shellie Knight and assistant Fred Asche will officiate. Entombment will be at Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum in Freeport. A memorial has been established in her memory at St. Croix Hospice.
