Dianne Louise (nee Rockey) Jacobs, 89, went home to be with her Lord on January 28, 2025, at the Lena Living Center in Lena Illinois. Dianne was born February 9, 1935. She was the daughter of Lee and Clara (nee Schenkel) Rockey. She graduated from Freeport High School in 1953. She became a member of Zion Church of Freeport at age 15. There she met and married the love of her life Wilmer Jacobs. They were married in 1955 and celebrated 68 years together before his passing. Upon Wimpy's retirement they became crafters together. He did wood creations and she did all the rest, sewing, dolls, painting on everything and quilting. They did 14 craft shows a year for many years traveling locally and as far away as Chicago. Her artistic talents didn't stop there, she was also an exceptional cake and cookie decorator and made many cakes for friends and family.

She loved traveling with her husband and did so every 3rd year from their honeymoon. One of the fun things she did was plan mystery trips for them. They would pack the car and since she was the map reader, they would just start off and she would direct where the trip would take them.

The Shannon- Lanark pantry was special to her as her and her husband ran it for 32 years. She was also the originator of both Shannon Hometown Christmas and the Shannon community garage sales with her friend Marg Nicol. She loved music from playing the bass in high school to singing in the Zion church choir. She loved her friends and family the most though and spending time with them was always her favorite thing to do.

Dianne is survived by her daughter LeAnne (Keith) Rink of Downers Grove, her son Daryn (Michelle) Jacobs of Forreston, her grandsons: Ryan Fransen, Ross Fransen and Connor Jacobs; brother Ken (Sharyn) Cash of Oracle Arizona. She was expecting her first great grandson this July. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilmer Jacobs.

Funeral service will be held at Zion Church in Freeport on February 1, 2025 starting at 2:00 PM. A visitation will preceed the service starting at 12:00 PM. A Celebration of Life supper will be held at Dianne's home in Shannon, after the cemetery interment around 4:00 PM.

A memorial fund has been established.
