Diane Marie Smith of Pecatonica, IL passed away unexpectedly at home on November 24, 2022. She was born in Rockford, IL on December 7, 1956 to David Lawrence Johnson and Margret Ann Ward Johnson. Diane graduated from Winnebago High School in 1974. She married Howard William Smith November 15th, 1975.

Diane was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She recently retired from Caldwell Industries.

Surviving are her mother Margret, two children; Kyle (Cristen) Smith of Freeport and Blair (Cody) Hartman of Pecatonica and two sisters; Dawn (Joe) Swanberg, and Donna (Tony) Rallo. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Cameron Smith, Adriana Smith, Brielle Smith, Jacob Smith, Abel Smith, Zion Smith, Aiden Hartman and Jackson Hartman.

Diane was preceded in death by her husband, brother Donald Clapp, sisters Denise (Willy) Russen and Debbie (Richard) Michaelson and father David.
