Dewey Meyers, 76, of Freeport, IL, passed away on February 25, 2021 at home. He was born on November 12, 1944 in Freeport to Leroy and Grace (Phillips) Meyers. He was a Freeport High School graduate and later worked at Anchor Harvey until retirement. He was involved in Golden Meals and a member of Fitness Lifestyles. His interests included making jewelry, riding bicycles and his Can-Am. He also enjoyed swimming, fitness, cars, and spending time with family. He was a funny, quick to crack a joke kind of man. A silly amazing soul will be deeply missed.

Dewey was survived by his Sons: Bill Meyers of Lena, IL, Anthony (Sandra) Meyers of Freeport, IL, and Scotty Meyers of Freeport, IL; his daughter Tori Meyers John of Freeport, IL; his Grandchildren: Jessica Aliu, Nathan Meyers, Melissa Rucker, Nicole Heyen, and Chris Niesman; his Great-Grandchildren: Ambri, Achilles, Athea, Adesija, Avledije, Tina, Jessica, Gryffin, Averi, Taylor, and Gabriella; and lastly but of great importance his right-hand man Dino (Dini Aliu) and his best friend Bob Grabow.

Dewey was preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Grace Meyers, 1 brother Richard Meyers, and 4 sisters: Nancy Milroy, Roberta Nave, Judith Meyers, and Virginia Ferguson.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday March 17, 2021, from 1PM to 3PM, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL.
