Derick Symanek, 53, of Freeport, IL, passed away on December 24, 2020 at FHN. He was born on March 11, 1967 in Freeport, IL to James and Sharon (Gale) Symanek. Derick was a semi truck driver and worked construction. Derick enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He loved fishing, riding his motorcycle, and jamming tunes in the garage.

Survivors include his mother: Sharon (Gale) Symanek; niece: Shelly (Cally) Thompson; nephew: James Symanek III (Nicole Feld); and nephew: Jason (Lindsey) Symanek, all of Freeport, IL.

He was preceded in death by his brother: James Symanek, Jr; sister: Tina Thompson; father: James Symanek, Sr; and brother: Joseph Symanek.
