DeeAnn Mease, 80, of Freeport, IL, passed away on July 14, 2023 at Pearl Pavilion. She was born on April 12, 1943 in Freeport, to Keith and Dorothy (Schneider) Holsinger. She was a 1961 graduate of Freeport High School, and on June 12, 1965, married Clarence Mease in Freeport. She was a cook for over 20 years at Park Hills Golf Course. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. Organizations include the Stephenson County Antique Engine Club, where in 2016, became queen of the engine club at the Stephenson County Fair. Also enjoyable was the yearly Halloween Train of Terror ride the Antique Club held. She played hand bells and sang in the Freeport Choral Society. She was a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan, as well as an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She enjoyed country music, especially the Oak Ridge Boys. She was a cat lover, and enjoyed camping and vacations with family in the summer.

Survivors include her daughter Renee (Bill) Yerk of Freeport, son Randy (Erin) Mease of Longwood, FL, and their children: Josey, Samantha, and Kiley Mease. She also has a grand dog Casper, and a grand cat S'mores. DeeAnn and S'mores would share the same birthdate.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, her parents, and her brother, Denny Holsinger.
