David Scott Brown of Freeport, Illinois departed this earthly life on Thursday, December 08, 2022 at Freeport Memorial Hospital. David was born on September 25, 1966 to William Thurmond and Sarah Lee (Veasley) Brown. He attended school in Freeport. He was employed by Structo for 5 years, Snack King for 7 years, and Anchor Harvey until his illness.

David is survived by: Debra Franks, a very special friend of 37 years, 2 Daughters : Dominque Brown and Mariah Franks both of Freeport, Illinois,  3 Grandchildren: Kaprice Anderson, La'Nyiah Ford, and Devote Ford, all of Freeport, Illinois; 2 Sisters: Debra (Timothy) Clark and Linda (Ray) Thompson both of Freeport, Illinois; 4 Brothers: Eddie James Brown of Jacksonville Florida, Michael (Lisa) Brown of Clarksville, Tennessee, Stevie Thurmond and Willie James Thurmond both of Minneapolis, Minnesota; 3 Aunts: Mary (David) Pempilton, Juanita (Van) Thurmond both of Freeport, Illinois, and Alee (John) Veasley of Virginia Beach, Virginia; 1 Uncle, Robert (Everlena) Thurmond of Freeport, Illinois, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Other special friends: Todd Saxby, Chris Brooks & Andre Pruitt.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Grandparents, 1 Sister, 7 Aunts, 7 Uncles, 1 Brother-In-Law, and Cousins.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday December 15, 2022 at 11AM, with visitation from 9AM until time of service, at Mt. Calvary Church of God in Christ, 420 Challenge St. in Freeport, IL. Interment at Freeport City Cemetery.
