Obituary

David "Dave" A. Pommerening, 69, of Pearl City, IL passed away Thursday January 2, 2025 at William S. Middleton Memorial Veteran Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born March 5, 1955 at Deaconess Hospital in Freeport, IL to Wilbur and Audrey (Perdue) Pommerening. Dave served in the United States Air Force from 1974-1977 and in the Army Reserves. He was a Service Technician at Birkey's Farm Store in Polo and John Deere. On August 23, 1997 he married Melanie Stewart at Crossroads Church in Freeport, IL. He enjoyed classic cars, camping, and researching military history, especially World War II because of his father's service during the war.

Dave is survived by his five children Audrey Pommerening of Heflin, AL, Misty Pommerening of Freeport, IL, Amy Brown of Iron River, MI, Chris (Stephanie) Pommerening of Bullhead, AZ, and Tyler (Stephanie) Stewart of Lanark, IL; brother James Cox of Buckley, WA; sister Sally (Delbert) Bunker of Freeport, IL; 13 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Butch, Merrel, and Eddy; four sisters Donna, Sue, Lorraine, and Peggy; and grandson Dakota Pommerening.

A visitation will be held on Friday January 10, 2025, from 4PM – 6PM, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL.
