Dale Lynn Norton "Red" of Freeport, IL, passed away on August 19, 2025 at OSF St. Anthony's in Rockford, IL. She was born on July 23, 1969 in Freeport to Mary Lou Gerloff & Robert Gerloff. She attended Freeport High School. She was baptized and accepted the Lord in 2014.

Survivors include her children: Buddy Norton, Charles Norton, Anthony Norton, Dylan Norton, Selena Norton, and their significant others; brothers Cecil Norton and Hank Norton; sisters Doris Gerloff, Patty Londo, and Janice (Mark) Hooper; special nieces Mariah and Felicia, 9 grandchildren: Da'Marion, Adrianna, Ja'Layah, De'Asia, Ja'Liyah, Alora, A'hriayah, Charles "CJ" and unborn grandson Sy'Mere, and a host of nieces, nephews, extra grandkids, family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother & father, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, the love of her life Robert Fane, brother-in-law Jimmy Pearson, and nephew Asiyah Thomas.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday August 23, 2025 at 12 noon, with visitation from 10 AM until time of service, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport.

A memorial has been established in her name.
