Obituary

Clara "Honey" Louise (Collins) Walker of Freeport, passed away on March 30, 2024 surrounded by her family. Clara was born on October 2, 1941 in West, Mississippi to Joe & Bobbie (McGee) Collins. Clara moved to Freeport in 1958.  She met and married her husband Alfred Walker on September 6, 1969 in New York City. Clara worked at Sears & Honeywell for many years but the true joy of her life was raising her three children. Clara loved spending time with her family and friends, traveling to various places especially Las Vegas, writing poetry, singing and directing choirs. Clara's god given gift was working with kids in the ministry and sharing her love with everyone's kids.

Clara will be greatly missed by her husband Alfred of Freeport, her children Tori Walker of Freeport, Alfonso (Angie) Walker of Rockford, and Marco (Heather) of Pearl City; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; siblings Willie (Edna) Collins of Freeport, John (Kathy) Collins of Freeport, Audrey (Rodney) Boyett of Freeport, Arthur Collins of Freeport; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, siblings James Collins, Hattie Campbell, Tommy Collins, Melvin Collins, and sister-in-law Rosie Collins.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday April 6, 2024 at 3 PM, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL.
