Charles (Chuck) Weigel died on April 2, 2022, at the age of 65, following a short illness resulting from an injury while in residence at the Pearl Pavilion. Chuck passed away while in respite care and was surrounded by his family and some of his closest friends. Chuck was born to Phil Weigel and Elizabeth Gerber (Fisher) on December 22, 1956, in Freeport, Illinois.

Chuck graduated in 1975, from Aquin Catholic High School. Upon graduation, Chuck worked for several years at Kelly's Tires in Freeport. Chuck later moved to Chicago where he was employed by Marshall Field and Co. and worked as a sales consultant in the Ralph Lauren room. After a few years, Chuck decided to move to Nashville, Tennessee where he pursued his license and certification as a beautician. His artistic talents along with his imaginative skills and technical proficiency made Chuck a sought-after stylist. Chuck lived in his beloved Nashville for twenty-five years and was well respected for his craft by hundreds of his customers. In 2016, Chuck moved back to Freeport, Illinois, to spend more time with his mom, and other family members that he cared deeply for throughout his life. Chuck was creative, and insightful and loved visiting various art museums throughout the country. Most people would say Chuck was a complex man, and at times struggled in life, but one thing that was always resolute was his love for his family.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Phil Weigel, and his mother, Liz Gerber. Additionally, Chuck is survived by his sister, Tammy (Weigel) Krepshaw, (Dr. Bren Stevens) of Charleston, West Virginia, and his stepmother, Tait Weigel, and her children, Bill Calkins, Amy (Weir) Gibson, (Britton Gibson), and their son, Max of Freeport, Illinois, along with his stepfather, Dean Gerber, and his children Alyson and Dana from Indianapolis, Indiana. Chuck was the proud uncle of Benjamin Krepshaw (Alex Farrell) from Rockwell, Iowa, and Nicholas Krepshaw, from Brooklyn, New York.

Chuck's last wishes were to be cremated and he requested not to have a formal service. Arrangements for his cremation are being conducted by Schwarz's Funeral Home. His ashes will be sent to his loving sister, Tammy and she will ensure that Chuck's final wishes are served.
