Charles E. Brown, 71, of Freeport, IL, passed away on May 18, 2021 at UW Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born on July 9, 1949 in New Orleans, LA, to James and Elizabeth (Hull) Brown. He married Kay L. Troxell on March 19, 1982. He was a retired Tool and Die Maker at Chrysler, and a member of Park Hills Evangelical Free Church.

Survivors include his wife Kay L. Brown, daughter Kathy Ehrler, sons: Bobby Ehrler, Tony Ehrler (Mary Ann), Greg (Shari) Ehrler, and Erin S.P. Brown (Tameika); daughter Jennie S. Gatewood (Ed), 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, brothers: Mike Brown (Carol), Steve Brown (Deb), and David Brown (Shiela).

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, and mother-in-law and father-in-law.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday May 23, 2021 at 6 PM, with visitation from 4 PM until time of service, at the Park Hills Evangelical Free Church in Freeport, IL, with Pastor Rich Graham officiating. A memorial has been established for Park Hills Evangelical Free Church.
