Oct 14, 1972 — Oct 20, 2022
Chad Edward Riese was born October 14, 1972 in Freeport, Illinois to Robert Vollman Riese and Linda Lou (Benell) Riese, the youngest of their three sons. Chad grew up in Freeport and graduated from Freeport High School in 1990 where many lifelong friendships were formed. Chad was proud of his service as a U.S. Marine. Chad passed away October 20, 2022 at the Freeport Memorial Hospital as a result of some major health issues.
Chad worked as a Fabrication Lead at Seaga Manufacturing in Freeport for many years.
His interests included playing pool, collecting, and shooting guns. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. One of Chad's favorite places in Freeport was Mort's Bar & Grill. His sharp sense of humor will be with all of us forever. He was always up for a good laugh or story. When our time comes, he will be there waiting with a few stories to share.
Chad is survived by his son, Cody, his two older brothers, James in Freeport and Brian in Phoenix, Arizona. He is also survived by his half-brothers, Robert (Mattie), Michael (Barrie), Thomas (Kerry), and Jay (Diane). He also left behind two cats he adopted (Beavis and Butt-head). He was preceded in death by his parents, and his paternal grandparents, Wrennie and Anna (Vollman) Riese, his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Marian (Meinders) Benell, and half-brother, David Riese.
There will be a celebration of Chad's life at Mort's Bar & Grill in Freeport from noon to 6pm, Wednesday, October 26 th . A memorial and burial is being planned for a later date. Chad would be grateful to those who stop by his lonely gravesite to say hi!
