Cathy Benita (Lucero) Smith, 61, of Freeport, IL, passed away on January 2, 2021 at FHN. She was born on September 4, 1959 in Los Angeles, CA, to Fausto and Martha (Santillan) Lucero. She married Robert Larry Smith II in 1992, at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas. She was a member of Crossroads Community Church. She volunteered at the Humane Society, local food pantry, celebrate recovery, and was a lunch lady at FSD.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Smith; sons: Joe, Chris, and Josh; daughters: Michelle and Brehanna; grandkids: Tyler, Lacey, Tristen, Donovan, and Revo; sisters: Priscella and Caroline; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, father Fausto, mother Martha, sister Lydia, and sister Laurie, who passed 2 days later.

A visitation will be held on Thursday January 7, 2021 at 5 PM, followed by a memorial service at 5:30 PM, at Oakland Mausoleum in Freeport.
