Carol J. Denekas, 90, of Freeport, IL, Met her Savior on Tuesday August 15, 2023. She was born on December 26, 1932 in Leaf River, IL, to Earl W. & Sylvia (Cain) Bolen. She attended White Eagle Grade School and graduated in 1950 from Leaf River High School. She married Harold Denekas on February 27, 1952 in Forreston, IL. She was a member of the Silver Creek Reformed Church in German Valley, IL.

Survivors include her husband Harold Denekas, children: Sharon (Roland) Baier, Pamela Kuper (Bob Kubatzke), Rodney Denekas, and Jeffrey (Angela Ash) Denekas; 7 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 6 great-granddaughters, 10 great-grandsons,  sisters-in-law Kay Bolen of Byron, IL, and Marge Denekas of Durand, IL, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Marvin Bolen and Calvin Bolen; in-laws Marvin & Laura (Janssen) Denekas, brothers-in-law: Warren Denekas (wife Hattiejane Denekas), Gerald Denekas, and son-in-law Allen Kuper.

A visitation will be held at 9 AM, with a funeral service at 10 AM, on Saturday August 19, 2023 at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL. Pastor Nora Johnson from the Silver Creek Reformed Church will officiate. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Silver Creek Reformed Church and FHN Hospice.
