Carol Ann
Barry
Jul 12, 1941 — Dec 12, 2020
Carol Ann (Lamm) Barry entered into the glory on December 12, 2020, after a courageous battle with Covid-19. She was born July 12, 1941 to Vincent & Gladys (Nestle) Lamm of Freeport, IL. She was a graduate of Dakota High School and raised her four children in Freeport. Carol married Tom Barry on February 4, 1981 in Freeport, then lived a large portion of her life in Tolar, TX, where she made many lifelong friendships. Carol's faith was an important part of her life and was apparent to all who knew her. She loved her sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as her nieces and nephews. She loved animals of all kinds, photography , and nature. One of her favorite places to visit was the Oakdale Nature Preserve.
Survivors include her 2 sons: Layne Pontnack of La Salle, MI, and Joel (Tina) Pontnack of Freeport; 2 daughters: Kathi (Guy) DiMarco of McKinney, TX, and Melody (Rich) Landry of Freeport; 2 sisters: Elizabeth Oelker of Somerset, KY, and Mary Jo Zwiger of Gun Barrel City, TX; 11 grandkids, 14 great-grandkids, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Vincent and Gladys (Nestle) Lamm, husband Tom Barry, and brother Charles Lamm.
Carol's legacy will live on not only through her family, but also through countless others she impacted in her life. Her love for Jesus, all people, and every creature great and small, shined brightly in her and stands as an example to us all.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
