Bill H. Crist, age 87 of Savanna, passed away Monday, November 28, 2022, in his home.  Cremation rites will be accorded.  No services are planned per his request.

Bill was born in Savanna, IL on February 2, 1935, the son of Harry and Elsie Crist.  Bill was a machinist for the Milwaukee Railroad for 43 years and was a commercial fisherman for over 50 years.  He enjoyed playing pool, fishing, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.  He was never too busy to play, take them fishing or make the best pancakes and milkshakes.  Bill was an avid tinkerer and known to be able to fix anything, even if it wasn't to "code".  He was especially good at wrapping presents, and you were sure to have a hard time opening them since his favorite tape was duct tape.  His playful grin and giggle were sure to be seen/heard while his latest victim was battling to get it open.  He was a hard worker and beloved by those who knew him.

Bill is survived by his loving companion of 37 years, Kathy Thiessen of Savanna; three sons: William (late Judie) Crist of Savanna, John (Luanne Beinke) Crist of Rock Island, IL, Terry Thiessen of Savanna; two daughters: Teresa (Ed) Wing of Clinton, Lezlie (Chad) LeQue of Bradley, IL; grandchildren: Alyssa (Alex Frazier) Wing of Iowa City, IA, Cole Wing of Clinton, IA, Bailey (Will) Richards of Davenport, IA, Kayla (Jacob) Klone, Minot, ND, Todd, Emma and Andrew LeQue of Bradley, IL; several nieces and nephews; his dear friend Milo Miller and cat Smokey.  He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and a granddaughter Kylie.
