Betty R. Carroll, 95, of Lanark, IL, passed away on December 17, 2022 at Allure of Mt. Carroll. She was born on March 25, 1927 in Lanark, IL, to Ralph and Helen (Adams) Burkholder. She graduated from Lanark High School in 1945. She married James Carroll on May 5, 1948 in Polo, IL. Organizations included the Red Hatters, Carroll County Home Extension, and St. Wendelins Ladies Society. She was a member of St. Wendelin Church in Shannon, IL.

Betty was an avid sports supporter of Lanark/Eastland and every grandchild and great-grandchild!

Survivors include her children: Craig Carroll of Chadwick, IL, Peggy (John) Mosher of Prophetstown, IL, Paulette (Dan) Morris of Gurnee, IL, Mark (Nancy) Carroll of Lanark, IL, Clark (Lori) Carroll of Lanark, IL, and Karla (Denny) Merdian of Polo, IL; brothers: Keith (Lillian) Burkholder of Lanark, IL, and Ray Burkholder of Lanark, IL; sister Connie Kerr of Dakota, IL, 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband James W. Carroll, parents Ralph and Helen Burkholder, brothers Larry and Jack Burkholder, and grandson Brett Morris.

A memorial has been established in her memory for Allure Nursing Home in Mt. Carroll, Lanark Fire & Ambulance service, and Mt. Carroll Fire & Ambulance service.

Services have been rescheduled for Saturday December 24, 2022 at St. Wendelins Catholic Church in Shannon, IL. Visitation will be from 9AM until 11AM, with funeral mass following at 11AM. Interment at Lanark Cemetery.
