Freeport native Ben Farringer passed away in his home this Sept. He was a very talented musician. A drummer and multi-instrumentalist. He was a skilled carpenter, painter and mechanic. He traveled the country extensively. He toured, played shows and recorded albums over the years with his bands Vanishing Kids, Kites, Three Bags Full, Wedgie, Just, Tainted and Morsel. In addition to Freeport, he also lived in Madison, WI, Portland, OR Cottage Grove, OR and Ft. Collins, CO. He was a great conversationalist and deeply caring soul. He was loved by many and will be missed greatly.
