Barbara Joan Reed, 78, of Freeport, IL, passed away on October 8, 2022, in her home. Barbara was born on September 7, 1944, in Freeport, Illinois to parents Duane Schlamp Sr. and Leona (Ebert) Schlamp.

Barbara was a graduate of Freeport High School in 1962, and later went on to further her education taking many courses in business and the banking field. Barbara was married on December 15, 2018, at the Wedding Chapel in the Pines in Sycamore, Illinois to Calvin Reed. Early in life Barbara worked at Meyers Ford Sales and later worked at several banks, retiring from US Bank in Freeport. Barbara was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who was happiest when she was spending time with her loved ones. She loved sharing laughs and memories with her special friends in the "GGW Group". Barbara frequently spent time at her and Calvin's cabin at Camp Delton which she referred to as her "Happy Place". She belonged to St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was passionate about her Catholic faith.

In 2018 Barbara married her soul mate, Calvin, and spent her golden years traveling, making memories and living life to the fullest with him. The two met in junior high in Freeport and were fortunate enough to rekindle an old friendship nearly 50 years later in 2017. Barbara was a kind, generous and compassionate woman who spent most of her time thinking of others. Her loving and giving spirit will be missed by many.

Barbara is survived by her husband Calvin Reed; children Jim Wolfe, Brenda Salazar; stepchildren Brad Reed, Barbara Miller; siblings Diana Yoder, Bobby (Lynn) Schlamp; grandchildren Christopher O'Haver (Jennifer), Tiana Hill (Corwin), Heather Wolfe, Stevie Oakley (Tyler), J.J. Wolfe, Colton Wolfe, Tyler Wolfe; great grandchildren Dylan Rose, Azalea O'Haver, Max O'Haver, Magnolia Oakley.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Duane and Leona (Ebert) Schlamp; brothers Duane and Gerald (Jerry) Schlamp; son Scott Wolfe.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday October 13, 2022, at 11:00 AM, with visitation at 10 AM until time of service, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Barbara's memory.
