Barbara LaVaughn Leverton, 71, of Freeport, IL, passed away on November 4, 2021 at home. She was born on March 7, 1950 in Mesa, Arizona to Edgar LeVerne Young and Gladys Laurene (Brown) Young. She married Philip Leverton on November 22, 1969 in London Mills, IL. She was a teacher for the Freeport School District, a member of Park Hills Evangelical Church, and the Red Hats organization.

Survivors include her husband Philip Leverton; daughters: Elise (Frankie) Leverton-Fulleda, Wende (Dave Harkness) Leverton, and Jana (Josh)  Signer; son PJ (Wendy) Leverton; sister Sheryl Busby; grandchildren: Jeremy, Jason, and Josh Leverton, Breahna Buss, Kaden and Keegan Kluck.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Edgar Young; son Kylen, sister Carol Tinder, and brother Jim Young.
