Barbara Joy Gross, 63, of Freeport Illinois, passed away Monday, September 18, 2023, at her home in Freeport surrounded by her family. Barb was born in Freeport on October 15,1959, the daughter of Sam and Lorraine (Martin) Sieber. Barb attended Pearl City Schools, where she graduated in 1977. She gave her life to Christ at age 22 with her baptism at her church, Crossroads Community Church. This was a pivotal moment in her life that guided the rest of her days. She enjoyed taking trips with her family and just taking a drive in the country. Besides her artistic talent she liked to color, both in her adult coloring books and color by number. Barb loved any and all sporting events, whether playing herself or watching her daughter, grandkids and nephews compete. Barb was united in marriage to Dave Gross on August 2,1980 at the Church At The Side Of The Road, Rockton. The couple established their home in Freeport. They were blessed with the birth of Kathryn Christine.

She is survived by her husband Dave, daughter Katie (Donnie) Thompson of Freeport, and two granddaughters, Jaydah and Jaliyah, one sister, Bonnie(Bill) Brouhard of Freeport, four brothers, Sam Sieber of Hesston, KS, Rich (Annie) Sieber of Lancaster PA, Phil (Anne) Sieber of Freeport and Ed Sieber of Rockford and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Christine and Hope Sieber and brother Dan Sieber.

Visitation will be held on Friday September 22, 2023 at 10AM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11AM at Park Hills Church, 2525 W. Stephenson St in Freeport, IL. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
