Anthony Hernandez, 20, passed away on June 9, 2025 in Rockford, IL. He was born on February 22, 2005 in Milwaukee, WI, to Janelle Jones and Anthony Hernandez. He attended Freeport School District 145 and was a member of Mt. Calvary Church of God In Christ.

Survivors include his parents Janelle Jones and Anthony Hernandez, sisters: Danielle Jones of Chicago, IL, Joleigh Jones of Freeport, IL, Nakyia, Tania, and Malaya, all of Dekalb, IL; brother DeAndre Hernandez of Dekalb, IL, nephews DaMeer Hernandez of Dekalb, IL, and Keron Huff, Jr of Freeport, IL, grandparents George & Kim Jones, and Anthony & Joyce Hernandez, godmother Mary Love and god sister LaParis Shipp, special friend Trelissia Hill, special aunt Kim and uncle Raymond Love, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by grandmothers Claudette Buchanan and Bernetta Love, great-grandparents George and Mary Jones, and Erving and Lottie Erving, uncle Joseph Myles, and uncle DeWayne Hernandez.

Funeral service will be held on Friday June 27, 2025 at 1 PM, with a 12-noon visitation, at Mt. Calvary Church of God In Christ, 420 Challenge St, in Freeport, IL, with Pastor Michael E. Pearson Sr. officiating.
