Alvin Eugene Klentz, Jr., 61, of Freeport, IL, passed away January 16, 2022 at FHN. He was born April 11, 1960 at St. Clare Hospital in Monroe, WI., to Alvin Klentz, Sr. and Marjorie (Collins) Klentz. He graduated from Leaf River High School (Leaf River, IL) and on October 26, 2018, married Dena Veer in Freeport. He worked in the maintenance department at FHN. He served in the United States Navy from 1978-1982.

Survivors include his wife, Dena (Veer) Klentz, sons: Logan Klentz of Monroe, WI, and Corey Klentz of Elgin, IL; parents Alvin Sr. and Marge Klentz of Leaf River, IL, sisters: Alvina Tullis of Freeport, Norma Klentz of Rockford, IL, and Pam (Eric) Hoffman of Freeport; stepchildren: Sara (Richard) Wunschel of Monroe, WI, and Brian Veer of Freeport; and numerous nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Glen and Mabel Collins, and Lawrence and Elfie Klentz; and nephew Joshua Gelafio.

A funeral service will be held on Monday January 24, 2022 at 1 PM, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL.
A visitation will be held on Sunday January 23, 2022 from 1-4 PM, also at the Park Blvd Chapel. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. Facial coverings will be required during visitation and funeral service.
