Obituary

Allen Stubben passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025, at the age of 76, in Freeport, Illinois. He was born on October 26, 1948, in Ridott, Illinois, and lived a life marked by hard work and dedication.

He was the son of Elmer and Margaret Stubben, who were the original owners of Ridott Corners Tavern. Allen grew up in a close-knit family, many members of which were WW2 veterans and taught him various trades that he used throughout his life.

In 1970, Allen married Pamela Williams in Freeport, Illinois. They had two sons, Allen and Jason, whom they raised in West Chicago.

Allen worked for 28 years at Yellow Freight trucking and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He was respected by his colleagues for his commitment to his work.

Outside of his career, Allen enjoyed motorcycling and golfing. He spent time on the open road and the golf course, engaging in these activities regularly.

Allen is preceded in death by his wife, Pamela; his brother, John; and his son, Allen. He is survived by his son, Jason.

We remember Allen Stubben for his hard work, laughter, and adventure. He made a lasting impact on many lives and will be fondly remembered. Allen's spirit will live on in our hearts. Rest in peace, Allen. You will be missed but never forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday May 7, 2025, from 5 PM - 7 PM, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL.
