Obituary

Allan "Skip" Garner, 91, of Lanark, IL, passed away on November 8, 2021 at Allure of Mt. Carroll. He was born on June 6, 1930 in Minneapolis, MN, to Doc and Erna (Huber) Garner. He attended Lanark High School and on March 16, 1957, married Elaine Gothard. He was a self employed welder and owner of Gothard Welding Shop. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lanark. He also served in the Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Organizations included the Carroll County Riding Club and the Carroll County Mounted Patrol.

Survivors include his sons: Tim (Cindy) Garner and Tom Garner; daughter Denise Rogers; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Elaine, his parents, 3 sisters, 1 brother, 2 sisters-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law, and 1 niece.

A visitation will be held on Saturday November 20, 2021, from 10 AM until 12 noon, at the Russell-Frank Funeral in Lanark, IL. A private family service will be at Lanark Cemetery in Lanark, IL.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
