Obituary

William W. O'Leary, 85, passed away on November 23, 2018 at UW Health, Madison, Wisconsin after a long illness.  Bill was born in Savanna, Illinois on August 24, 1933 to William M. and Laurie (Westlund) O'Leary. He graduated from York Community High School in Thomson and Northern Illinois University.  Bill was a member of Centennial United Methodist Church in Rockford, Illinois.  Bill married Nancy Chamberlin on June 21, 1958 at Lighthouse United Methodist Church near Oregon, Illinois.

He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the US Army. Bill had a successful career as an educator and taught in the communities of Forreston, Cedarville, Dakota and Loves Park.  After retiring from teaching, he worked for Menards.

Bill is survived by Nancy, his wife of 60 years, daughters, Diane (David) Kerner of Powell, OH, Susan (Kaneto) Imaizumi of Elmsford, NY, son, Kevin (Yuko) O'Leary of Freeport, sister Ellen (the late John A.) Morgan of Clinton, IA, 10 grandchildren, Erin (Charles) Wilson, Karla (Richard Skowronski) Kerner, Joel Kerner, Kenneth Takahashi, Mari Takahashi, Megumi Imaizumi, Naomi Imaizumi, Kevin (Manami) O'Leary, Ai O'Leary and Maria O'Leary. 5 great-grandchildren, Sylvia and Alice Dziak, Emily and Clara Wilson and Rowan Skowronski.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Schwarz Funeral Chapel on Park Blvd in Freeport.  He will be laid to rest at Daysville Cemetery near Oregon, Illinois.
